Tunnel Vision

What is your motivation? What is your driving force? Do you only want to lose weight, or do you want to be healthy overall? Why do you want to work-out?

I am really against weight loss gimmicks, supplements, fad diets, operations and the like. All because I feel like this stuff makes the recipient have a sense of entitlement. Just because you buy into this stuff, doesn't guarantee that you will lose weight. If you do lose the weight, how do you expect to keep it off if you lost it by taking pills or using hormones? Weight loss starts in the kitchen. With anything worth having, you have to have an excellent foundation. You cannot out exercise a bad diet!!!

I remember when I first started, my sister, my daughter and I would have what we affectionately called "Pizza Friday". We would order pizzas and watch movies. Well, one Friday I was running behind, and I hadn't had time to eat something light before I went to the gym. We had already gotten the pizza though. So I had a slice of pizza. Toward the middle of the workout I wanted to throw up!!! And thus, killing "Pizza Friday"! We still have pizza, but it's on occasion, and I eat different things on mine. You can still eat some of the same foods, you just have to learn to make better choices.

If you are motivated by weight loss, I hope that you dig deeper and become interested in maintaining a fit lifestyle. Your body is just as important as your car, and your home. So don't maintain it when it's already out of shape, keep it tuned up and you won't have to worry about dropping excess weight.

Im against fat burners gimmick crap, but supplementation...no way im against them all. As long as it is in the form of vitamins or protein shakes so I can make sure I am getting what my body needs nutritional wise. Yes real food is always the best option but sometimes you cant always make it to healthy food before you are about to pass out. Plus vitamins and minerals supplementation are essential since the food we have to eat even if organic does not contain as many of them as they used to; sadly, do to pollution and over use of pesticides in soil.
